Is junk food as addictive as drugs?

A diet of burgers, chips & cake will program your brain into craving even more foods that are high in sugar, salt and fat - according to a new research.

Over the years these junk foods can become a substitute for happiness and will lead bingers to become addicted.

Researchers believe it is one of the first studies to suggest brains may react in the same way to junk food as they do to drugs.

What do you think?

  1. I think I always associate certain foods with different experiences and that leads to different cravings. I'm watching football---I HAVE to have wings, for example. I also find myself saying things like "calories don't count on your birthday" or "calories don't count if you're sad"

  2. i would think anything that is considered "addictive" will follow the same pattern and take the same place of happiness because you can "quench" the desire

  3. Is the addiction more "powerful" when you are sedentary or constantly moving? For example, I feel I eat more when I am sitting in front of a computer/TV, rather than running around being active.

  4. I agree with the researchers and feel that there is a correalation between junk food and drugs. I'm sure that the addiction is more powerful when you are sedentary, and that the constant junk will make you become that way.
