Dorel Asia Recalls Bunk Beds

Dorel Asia has issued a recall for approximately 445,000 wooden bunk beds in the United States.  The company is also recalling 21,700 bunk beds in Canada.  The beds have wooden side rails that run from the headboard to the footboard and hold the bunk bed’s mattress in place.  The rails can split and cause the bunk bed to collapse, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Dorel have received a total of 23 reports of the side rails cracking or breaking, including seven reports of minor bruises or abrasions.

Consumers should immediately stop using the beds as bunk beds.  The bunk beds were sold at Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target stores and online at the retailers’ individual Web sites from September 2004 through September 2009 for about $190.

The attorneys at Messa & Associates have successfully represented many victims of recalled products.  If you or a loved one has been seriously injured as a result of the recalled Dorel Asia bunk beds, please contact us at 1-877-MessaLaw.
