Kia Recalls 58,000 Vehicles

Kia Motors Corp. has announced a recall for more than 58,000 Spectra compact cars because the gas tanks could fall off and cause a fire.

The recall affects Spectra LD models from the 2004 to 2007 model years registered in 20 cold-weather states, including Pennsylvania and New Jersey as well as Washington, D.C.  The cars are equipped with straps that hold the gas tank to the frame.  When exposed to road salt, the straps can rust and the tank can fall to the ground, causing a fuel leak and possibly a fire.

The attorneys at Messa & Associates have successfully represented many victims of defective motor vehicles and motor vehicle component parts.  If you or a loved one has been seriously injured by one of the recalled Kia vehicles, please contact us at 1-877-MessaLaw.
