Fire Alarm Control Panels Recalled by Tyco

Approximately 540 Simplex fire alarm control panels are being recalled by Tyco Safety Products because they can fail to send a signal to alert monitoring centers in the event of a fire.  Failure to alert the monitoring centers can result in delayed response to an emergency at your home increasing the risk of damage and/or injury.

The recalled fire alarm panel is the Simplex 4100U-NXP panel.  The words "Simplex," "4100U" and "Fire Control" appear on the fire alarm's front panel.  They were sold by SimplexGrinnell from May 2010 to September 2010 for between $10,000 and $20,000

Tyco Safety Products has received two reports of control panels that have failed to alert monitoring centers when they should have.
