Venmar Ventilation Inc. has announced an expansion of its recall program for certain air exchangers with or without heat recovery that it manufactures. Certain circumstances could lead to a motor overheating in the air exchangers with or without heat recovery, which may result in a potential fire hazard.
Only certain models with or without heat recovery manufactured from 1983 until 2001 are affected by the recall. The selected units were distributed under the brand names of: Venmar, Venmar AVS, Flair, vänEE, Sears, Guardian by Broan, NuTone, Conformax, Payne, Day & Night, Carrier, Bryant, Heil, York, Rheem, Ruud, Protech, Hush, IVL and Weatherking sold in North America.
Owners of the recalled units should immediately turn their unit off.
