Sewing Machines Recalled for Fire Hazard

Janome America Inc. has announced a recall of about 600 of its Elna eXcellence 740 sewing machines.  The wires inside the sewing machine can short-circuit, posing a risk of fire.  At least one machine has caught fire.

The machine is white and navy with a digital touch panel.  The words "Elna" and "eXcellence 740" are printed on the front of the machine.

The product was sold at sewing machine stores nationwide from September 2010 through April 2011 for about $3,000.  Consumers should immediately unplug and stop using the machine.

The attorneys at Messa & Associates have pursued many burn and fire cases as a result of products with manufacturing and design defects.  We combine our years of experience, thorough research and the knowledge of highly regarded experts to prepare these cases.  If you or a loved one has been seriously injured by an Elna eXcellence 740 sewing machine, please contact us at 1-877-MessaLaw.
